Frequently Asked Questions

Lash Extensions

  • Extensions will last you up to 6 weeks before they all completely fall off if you wish to have them applied as a one-off for a special occasion. Should you decide to continue getting extensions, it is recommended that you book refills within 2-3 weeks and with at least 40% of your lashes remaining intact. It is our salon policy that you follow these instructions as it reduces your overall expenses from new sets over time!

  • If your lashes are less than 40% of your full set before the 2-3 week mark, first ensure you have followed all the advised aftercare procedures:

    - Be extra gentle with your lashes

    - Avoid water around the eye area, steam, and excessive sweat in the first 24 hours from the appointment

    - Using our cleanser, cleanse your lashes at least once a day to prevent the build-up of oil and debris

  • No, at NJ Lashes we recommend a length and thickness suitable to your needs and preferences. We take careful consideration of the weight of the extensions your natural lashes can handle.

  • Absolutely! Makeup can be worn any time as long as it is 24 hours after your appointment. You want to avoid and minimize the exposure to water to allow enough time for the glue to set before having to remove the makeup from an event or night out.

  • Use an oil-free, glycol-free, lash-safe makeup remover, our trusty lash cleanser can be used to remove your makeup. Any oil-based products will break down the lash adhesive and using cotton pads to remove your makeup will cause the extensions to fall off prematurely. Once you have removed your makeup with a suitable remover, to finish off we recommend our cleansers at NJ Lashes to safely remove any excess build-up of dirt commonly found in hard-to-reach areas between lashes.

Brow Tattoo

  • Brow tattoos can last anywhere between 1-2 years. It is semi-permanent so we advise that you book a touch-up at least every 12 months to maintain the color and shape.

  • Some clients feel slightly uncomfortable and others little to no pain at all.  A strong topical anesthetic cream is always applied 45 minutes prior to each treatment and amid the procedure, as we take any necessary precautions throughout to ensure our clients undergo the treatment as pain-free as possible.

  • Soreness will linger within the first few hours but will remain tender for the next couple of days to one week depending on the individual’s ability to heal.
